Asphalt Paver Operator

Overview
We are seeking motivated and skilled Asphalt Paver and/or screed operators to join or team. We strive to maintain an easy going, enjoyable work environment. Applicants should have a good attitude and be self motivated as well as able to problem solve in fast paced environments.

We work all over VT, but most work is performed from Barre/Montpelier north to the Canadian border.

Duties

• Operate asphalt pavers and related heavy machinery with precision and safety awareness to lay asphalt surfaces efficiently.
• Coordinate with co workers to ensure proper material placement, compaction, and finishing techniques.
• Monitor paving operations, adjusting equipment settings to achieve specified thickness, smoothness, and quality standards.
• Assist with the setup of paving sites, including grading, leveling, and preparing sub-base materials.
• Conduct routine inspections of paving equipment, performing maintenance or reporting issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Support auxiliary tasks such as loading materials with loaders, loading and unloading equipment etc.
• Follow all safety protocols and construction site regulations to maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment, particularly asphalt pavers, skid steers, rollers etc.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of paving machinery and basic maintenance procedures.
• Construction site experience demonstrating knowledge of safety standards and project workflows.

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
