About the Position
The Marketing and Operations Manager is a key member of the Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers & Employers Association (MAEA) team, responsible for managing all events, marketing, and communications efforts. This position leads the planning and execution of Association events, coordinates marketing and public relations initiatives, maintains the Association’s website and publications, and supports member engagement and administrative operations. The role also provides direct support to the Association President to ensure the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate logistics for all Association events, including publicity, design, advertising, production, and distribution of materials.
- Manage contractors, vendors, and volunteer committees for events and meetings.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote MAEA’s programs, services, and brand.
- Maintain and update the Association’s website, and manage social media accounts such as LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Prepare, publish, and distribute the Quarterly Member Journal and Monthly E-Happenings Journal, including advertising coordination.
- Manage email communications and databases through Constant Contact.
- Provide administrative support to the Association President, including drafting correspondence, preparing reports, and organizing meetings.
- Support the Board of Directors and Executive Committee by preparing agendas, notices, and minutes.
- Maintain member and contact databases, process new memberships and cancellations, and coordinate membership communications.
- Assist with financial processes such as collections and budget development.
- Oversee part-time administrative personnel involved in event coordination.
- Manage and compile post-event wrap-up reports and performance metrics.
- Coordinate mailings, publications, and internal communications.
- Assist in obtaining HRCI Certification for events and training programs as needed.
- Support day-to-day operations, including ordering supplies and reviewing workflows for efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned by the Association President.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4 years of professional experience in event management, marketing, or website administration (nonprofit experience preferred).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred; associate degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience accepted.
- Demonstrated success in planning and executing events, marketing campaigns, and relationship-building initiatives.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Constant Contact.
- Experience with social media management and website updates.
- Excellent administrative writing and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
Work Environment
- Office-based role with regular computer use (up to 70% of workday).
- Requires excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
- Fast-paced, team-oriented environment requiring attention to detail and multitasking ability.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
