What You'll Do

As an Instructional Coach, you'll empower teachers and home visitors to grow their skills, strengthen classroom practices, and improve outcomes for children and families. Through coaching, mentoring, observation, and professional development, you'll help educators deliver high-quality early learning experiences that support school readiness and lifelong success.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with teachers and home visitors to provide individualized coaching, support, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Observe classrooms and home visits and provide constructive feedback using evidence-based coaching practices.
  • Model effective teaching and home visiting strategies that promote positive child outcomes.
  • Help staff develop and achieve professional goals through Practice-Based Coaching.
  • Analyze data and assessment results to identify strengths, opportunities, and strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Area Managers, Mental Health staff, and program leadership to support program quality.
  • Facilitate ongoing learning around the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, School Readiness Goals, CLASS, TPOT, and Creative Curriculum.
  • Build trusting relationships that encourage reflection, growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality and professional standards.

Most importantly, you'll help educators reach their full potential, creating stronger learning environments and brighter futures for the children and families we serve.

What We'll Love About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field with coursework equivalent to a major in early childhood education/child development.
  • At least three years of experience teaching preschool-aged children, preferably in a Head Start setting.
  • Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CLASS and CSEFEL-T-POT reliability certifications.
