Nutritionist – Employment Status: Independent Contractor (1099)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable, professional, and client-centered Nutritionist to join our practice as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate is passionate about evidence-based nutrition, skilled in behavior-change coaching, and comfortable working autonomously while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized nutrition assessments, counseling, and follow-up sessions.
- Develop personalized nutrition plans aligned with client goals, medical needs, and lifestyle.
- Educate clients on evidence-based nutrition strategies related to weight management, metabolic health, digestion, lifestyle conditions, sports nutrition, or other relevant specialties.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation in compliance with NY State guidelines and practice protocols.
- Communicate and collaborate with referring providers, coaches, and/or clinical staff as needed.
- Support virtual or in-person clients depending on practice needs.
- Use motivational interviewing, habit coaching, and accountability techniques to improve client outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, or case discussions as requested (virtual).
- Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to confidentiality (HIPAA compliance if healthcare-based).
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based nutrition and behavior-change strategies.
- Experience in clinical nutrition, functional nutrition, wellness coaching, metabolic health, weight management, or related specialties preferred.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently as a contractor.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
- One of the following credentials (based on NY State requirements):
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) preferred
- Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS)
- New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) or eligible
- 1–3 years of client facing experience required
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $34.37 - $63.40 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
