Production Manager/ Inventory Control Specialist

Northeast Lantern is looking for a Production Manager/ Inventory Control Specialist! This position will report directly to our Operations Manager.

The main goal of the position will be to meet the production schedule and throughput objectives. Additional duties will include writing and providing input for performance reviews, forklift operation, maintaining inventory, performing cycle counts and processing purchase order requisitions. Regularly meeting with the Operations Manager to keep management informed of production situation, answering fixture specific questions, working in each department as needed to help fill any short-term production gaps. The Production Manager must be available to open and close the shop as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Supervises and coordinates the activities of all personnel working in the main shop area in order to meet production schedule established by Operations Manager. Is responsible for general procedures to support and maintain the smooth operation of the main shop area.

· Receive and stock purchased items and perform purchase order receipts in a timely manner

· Conduct and oversee inventory counts and accuracy as needed as part of routine cycle counts and end of year inventory

EDUCATION:

High School or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or APCIS certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

2 years’ experience in a production planning position. Must be willing to pursue additional training to upgrade their education and sharpen skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong communication and organization
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Rootstock/Salesforce experience preferred
• Familiarity with materials resource planning, bills of materials, purchase orders, and receiving
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes

Position requires a dynamic and motivated leader to work with the Operations Manager and shop floor Team Leads to coordinate all aspects of lantern production. The incumbent must be able to build positive relationships with employees in order to advocate on their behalf and ensure employees have the materials they need. Incumbent must feel comfortable calling in management support when needed and with working with the management team to set achievable production schedules. The Production Manager must be a constructive part of the operational feedback and support continued improvement initiatives. The Production Manager will also be expected to communicate with Customer Service to provide updates and information pertaining to customer orders.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY:

General ability needed to learn, understand, and apply knowledge of working equipment and methods needed to assemble lantern parts. The Production Planner must be able to maintain sharp focus and be extremely organized to assure objectives are met on time and at, or exceeding, production expectations. The position requires the ability to apply sound ethical business judgment to all decisions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Standing/walking 80%; sitting 20%. Lifting up to 100 lbs.; carrying up to 80 lbs. Must be able to work a 40-hour work week with occasional overtime as needed.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
