General Duties:
A kynector is a community-based, unbiased navigator trained to help Kentuckians understand and enroll in health insurance and other state benefits through the kynect program. kynect is Kentucky's State-Based Health Insurance Marketplace. Services are free, and kynectors assist with Qualified Health Plans (QHPs), Medicaid, SNAP, and child care assistance. No sales involved with this position. MUST SUCCESSFULLY PASS THE ANNUAL KYNECTOR CERTIFICATION TRAINING FOR CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT.
Normal Hours/Days:
Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, however schedules must flex in this position for evening and weekend outreach events.
Job Description:
· Provide accurate and unbiased information to help the population understand and enroll for health insurance benefits;
· Focus on understanding and meeting needs of underserved, vulnerable, and difficult to access populations;
· Will primarily work with the public outside of their offices; Travel within our five county service region will be required, as well as occasional travel within the state for trainings or meetings.
· Conduct enrollment activities in a face-to-face or approved remote manner so that more consumers can be reached;
· Conduct outreach and educational activities to better reach underserved and vulnerable populations;
· Serve all consumers requesting their services, without discrimination;
· Offer to refer individual consumer to other kynectors/Navigators, CACs, or insurance agents when necessary, but shall provide available services at the request of the consumer;
· Register for and successfully complete required annual kynector Certification training and any training required by Division of Health Benefit Exchange (DHBE).
· Maintain all necessary records of travel and complete all daily/weekly/monthly reporting requirements.
· Conduct all activities in a manner that is ethically sound and culturally appropriate.
· Assists with other activities as assigned by the Program Director or Executive Director.
Requirements:
· Must reside in Boyd County
· High school diploma or GED - College degree preferred
· Experience working with underserved populations
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Tech-savvy – most of the job will require using various mobile devices and software
· Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
· Strong organizational skills
· Knowledge of community needs and resources
· Good time management skills
· Ability to lift up to 50lbs
· Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, be in compliance with state registration and insurance requirements, and safe driving record
· Must pass background check and drug screening
Northeast serves Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Greenup, and Lawrence.
Paid mileage. Travel will be required regularly within NKCAA’s five county region, as well as occasional travel or overnight travel outside of the covered region. Paid travel expenses and per diem.
