Overview: The High School secretary, under the supervision of the Building Principal, must perform a variety of duties requiring a detailed knowledge of the High School and district procedures and policies including, but not limited to, attendance, budget, and clerical. Additionally the High School secretary will act as a liaison between the Principal and staff, students, parents and community members.
The start date for this position is August 1, 2026.
Weekly/Daily schedule:
7:15-4:15 Daily (4 days a week) (Based on School calendar)
12 Month Contract
**Overtime will need to be worked on weeks we attend school 5 days (Snow make up days, etc)
Qualifications:
-Previous experience in secretarial work is a bonus
-A reasonable degree of proficiency in keyboarding
-A working knowledge of office procedures and office technology including Google sheets,
Google forms, Google docs, Google calendar and Gmail.
-The ability to learn new tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor
Duties and responsibilities
-Act as secretary to the building principal
-Receive instructions from building principal
-Coordinate office activities as needed
-Prepare and handle student registration (Enrollment) and withdrawals (Drops)
-Answer basic building questions and gives out information correctly and discreetly
-Maintain a positive office environment
-Maintains building minutes and school plans
-Maintains students cumulative records
-Handle incoming and outgoing mail and orders
-Maintain office files
-Maintain office supplies for staff and students
-Will work with Principal to schedules, process and instruct substitute teachers in the building
-Maintain staff absentees reports
-Maintain student absentee records
-Administer basic first aid and determines nurse referrals
-Handle accident reports
-Manage school activity funds (Must be bondable)
-Answer incoming office telephone calls
-Assist in maintaining standard office equipment
-Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
Physical requirements
-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk or sit
for extended periods of time.
-This position will occasionally require physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry objects up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 lbs.
-Person in this position must maintain appropriate levels of personal hygiene and dress
-Person in this position must be able to work in noisy or crowded environments
