Registered Nurse Pre-Op/PACU
Job Summary:
Endoscopy Center is seeking a qualified Pre-Op/PACU Nurse to administer care to outpatients via assessment, monitoring, intervention, and continuous reassessment. The Nurse will also collaborate with other team members in duties necessary to maintain a busy ambulatory surgery center.
No Call, No Weekends, No Holidays!
Duties
- Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to endoscopy procedures
- Ensure pre-operative assessment is complete and documented
- Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
- Provide Post-procedure care for patients recovering from moderate sedation and/or propofol
- Assess patients’ post-procedure condition
- Monitor and document vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
- Provide discharge instructions to patients’ caregivers.
- Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to the physician
- Perform intervention duties during pre/post-procedure emergencies
- Follow HIPPA, OSHA guidelines
Requirements/Preferences
- Current Georgia Nursing license
- Current BCLS & ACLS certification required.
- Candidate must possess general clinical competency in acute patient care
- Candidate must demonstrate aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encounters
- Candidate must demonstrate an ability to gather pertinent medical history and communicate concise instructions for pre-operative and post-operative care
- Previous ambulatory surgery experience is preferred
- Experience in reviewing/evaluating the patient’s past medical history per anesthesia protocol is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
