What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long-Term Substitute Elementary Music Teacher position at Northeast Community School District?
Northeast Elementary is in search of a Long Term Substitute Music Teacher Position, starting Fall 2026. Under the general supervision of the Principal, the long-term substitute teacher will serve as a temporary replacement for our Music Teacher during an extended leave beginning September 2026, lasting approximately 8 weeks.

- Implement the district’s elementary music curriculum and instructional materials in alignment with the Iowa Fine Arts Standards.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning (Experience with PBIS preferred).
- Collaborate with families, colleagues, & other service providers to enhance student outcomes.
- Maintain music materials, instruments, and classroom resources in an organized and responsible manner.
- Strive for continued professional improvement & continuous inquiry.
- Have a love of music, a musical background, and/or musical proficiency.
License Endorsements for the Position: Substitute License (preferred) or Substitute Authorization (with BOEE approval).
