Responsibilities:
- Setup work schedule for all shifts daily.
- Implement PM Program for all equipment.
- Maintain MSD book as needed.
- Log model, make, and serial number of all equipment
- Daily rounds on all units to ensure work orders are completed and quality of life is upheld in facility maintenance aspects.
- Maintain inventory of all supplies needed for Maintenance Department.
- Assemble all new and used equipment for safety (including all rented and consignment items.
- Repair and maintenance of nursing call bell system.
- All plumbing repairs.
- Carry 2way radio and respond to all emergencies in facility on any shift
- Attend and participate in all educational/Inservice classes.
- Report to Director on daily basis for updates on progress of staff, daily assignments, questions and/or concerns.
- Work hands on in all phases of building maintenance.
- Snow Removal
- Address any life safety concerns and remedy the problem.
- Works in all areas of the facility.
- Is subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reschedule maintenance activities.
- Communicates with maintenance personnel and other departments.
- Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays, when necessary, as well as in other positions as needed.
- Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g. severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
- May be required to work on shifts other than the one for which hired.
- Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
- Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B virus.
- May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Maintains a liaison with other department supervisors to adequately plan for maintenance services/activities.
- May be required to perform the duties of the maintenance mechanic.
- May be required to work in cramped spaces and in adverse weather conditions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent-required
- Able to read, write and understand English
- Dependable, adaptable to change and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Compensation:
- Rate will be commensurate with experience.
