The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources Department with the day-to-day administration of employee-related activities in a rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility. This position provides administrative support for recruitment, onboarding, employee records, attendance, benefits, employee relations, compliance, and other HR functions.

The HR Assistant must maintain confidentiality, demonstrate professionalism, and provide responsive customer service to employees, managers, applicants, residents, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare onboarding paperwork and orientation materials

• Coordinate new hire orientations and training schedules

• Assist with employee file management and HR documentation

• Respond to basic employee questions regarding policies and procedures

• Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases

• Assist with timekeeping, attendance tracking, reporting, and staffing

• Support benefits enrollment and basic payroll coordination

• Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations

• Assist with HR projects and audits as needed

• Prepare new-hire packets and required employment documents.

• Assist with completion of employment forms, including tax and payroll documents.

• Coordinate pre-employment requirements such as background checks, physical examinations, drug testing, and required health clearances, as applicable.

• Assist with employee orientation and onboarding.

• Ensure required facility policies and acknowledgments are provided to new employees.

• Track completion of required onboarding documentation.

• Support a positive and professional workplace culture

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Previous experience in HR, preferred

• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or HR software-preferred

Compensation:

• Rate will be commensurate with experience.
