This full-time (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday position will typically work 8 am - 4:30 pm (occasional evenings and/or weekends scheduled in advance) in a classroom setting. Staff will commute to early childhood centers located in St. Louis City.

What you will do: Empower children with developmental delays and disabilities by working 1:1 in a classroom setting to help them prepare for Kindergarten.

• Conduct screenings for social-emotional, developmental and behavioral delays
• Provide early intervention services to ensure each child is developmentally appropriate in the areas of communication, fine motor, gross motor, personal/social and social emotional development.
• Assist with resources and referral to services for children with identified concerns
• Provide professional workshops for classroom teachers and partners as needed
• Serve as liaison between service providers, teachers and families in accessing services
• Work with classroom teachers, caregivers, mental health professionals and families to plan and implement classroom strategies and inclusive supports, including behavior consultation, and environmental and curriculum adaptations as needed.
• Assist partnership sites to build capacity in areas of behavior management, positive discipline, identification and referral, and individualized instruction
• Complete appropriate and required daily/monthly/quarterly paperwork

What we expect of you: The flexible, respectful individual we see is an innovative and quick thinker with these qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, or related field and documented Early Childhood experience (OR Master’s Degree in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education or related field) (required)
• Two or more years of experience working with newborns to 5 years old with developmental disabilities and/or delays
• Experience working in K-6 classrooms
• Experience conducting developmental assessments and supporting families with IEPs
• Experience locating community resources
• Must provide proof of Covid vaccination
