Position Overview
The Avionics Technician performs Pitot, Static, RVSM, and Transponder testing in accordance with FAA regulations. Installs and tests aircraft electronics equipment and systems, fabrication, termination, and testing of avionics system wiring harness, and disassembling and reassembling of aircraft interior and instrument panels.
Duties / Responsibilities
·Troubleshoots and repairs aircraft systems using aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins and letters, and equipment manufacturer’s installation manuals.
- Read and understand wiring diagrams and other technical installation data.
- Assist with aircraft maintenance related tasks as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills / Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of recent experience in General Aviation avionics preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and solid knowledge of aircraft mechanical and electrical system functions.
- Experience with Honeywell and Garmin Avionics products preferred.
- FAA issued current Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate preferred.
- Sufficient experience to obtain a Repairman's Certificate.
- Experience on Pilatus aircraft preferred.
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations and inspection procedures.
- Ability to pass a DOT FAA pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Communicate effectively, both oral and written.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to function well and maintain a high level of accuracy under pressure and time constraints.
- Flexibility, as needed, to accommodate external and internal customer needs.
- Ability to independently problem solve.
- Possess excellent active listening skills.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to help NEA attain corporate goals.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
