What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver- Transportation Adult Daycare position at Northeast Adult Day Care?
Northeast Adult Day Care is seeking a dependable and compassionate Driver to safely transport our clients to and from the center each day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with older adults, including individuals with dementia, and is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive experience during transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company-owned 14-passenger vehicles to transport clients to and from the center
- Assist clients with boarding and exiting vehicles, including proper use of wheelchair lifts and securement systems
- Ensure the comfort, dignity, and safety of all clients throughout transport
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate logs for trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding schedules, delays, or client needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with elderly individuals, particularly those with dementia, preferred
- Ability to safely operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles (training can be provided if needed)
- Strong attention to safety, reliability, and detail
- Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Schedule: 3 days per week and/or 3 hours per day
Proficiency in English required for communication with clients, families, and staff.
