Part-Time Activities Director Assistant – Dementia-Focused Programming
Location: Northeast Adult Day Care
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview
Northeast Adult Day Care is seeking a qualified and experienced Activities Coordinator to design and lead therapeutic recreation programs for adults and seniors, with a strong emphasis on dementia-friendly programming. Please note: This role requires prior experience in activity planning and coordination in a healthcare, senior care, or adult day setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, person-centered activities tailored to adults with cognitive impairments, including dementia.
• Develop monthly activity calendars that balance therapeutic, social, and recreational goals.
• Train and support staff in facilitating group and individual activities for participants with varying abilities.
• Ensure all programming incorporates current dementia care best practices.
• Lead and supervise group activities with professionalism, compassion, and adaptability.

Minimum Qualifications (Applicants must meet all):

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred).
• At least 2 years of direct experience coordinating or leading activities in a senior care, adult day, or healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated experience working specifically with individuals living with dementia.
• Proven ability to plan, organize, and adapt activities for diverse cognitive and physical abilities.
• Intermediate computer skills for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Note: This is not an entry-level position. Applicants without relevant activities coordination experience will not be considered.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
