DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS: Job Summary The Manager, Safety & Security
oversees the daily operations of the Security Department, ensuring a
safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role
supports the Director of Safety and Security in developing,
implementing, and maintaining college-wide safety, security, and
emergency response programs. Responsibilities include ensuring
compliance with federal and state regulations such as the Clery Act,
Title IX, OSHA, and DSPS standards, as well as participating in
emergency planning, drills, and investigations. The Manager, Safety &
Security provides leadership in staff development, crisis response, and
continuous improvement of safety systems. This position also manages
campus-wide security services, including operations at Regional
Campuses. Additionally, the Manager, Safety & Security supervises
student security staff and the non-exempt Security Supervisor, ensuring
appropriate staffing, training, and consistent implementation of
security policies and protocols to maintain a safe campus environment.
The Manager, Safety & Security will also carry out risk management
functions, including budgeting, invoicing, insurance policy review and
renewal, analysis, College policy development, and training as needed to
ensure the students, employees, and assets of the College are protected.
