Job Summary: To provide behavior analysis services and behavior management plans for specialeducation students enrolled in educational programs; provide support and professionallearning to school site staff, instructional assistants/ABA technicians, andparents/guardians in appropriate behavior intervention techniques; conducts assessmentsand develops plans that conform to IDEA, Massachusetts law and regulations and otherapplicable statutes and regulationsKnowledge: 1. Ability to develop and communicate detailed behavior management plans withrationale for implementation based on a functional behavior assessment2. Ability to interpret statistical data in relation to behavioral scales3. Ability to apply common sense understanding and to communicate options andsolutions when several variables exist.4.
Communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability to read, write, speak andunderstand English5. Commitment to remain current in field of knowledge, best practices and lawsgoverning behavioral supports for students with disabilities6. Establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with students,their families, colleagues and supervisors.Responsibilities: 1. Develop materials and provide resources for and provide professional developmentfor administrators, educators, instructional assistants, ABA technicians, andparents/guardians in Applied Behavior Analysis and/or other evidence-basedmethodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavior difficulties2.
Plan and oversee the development and implementation of programs, policies, andbest practices related to instruction using the principles of ABA for students withautism and other disabilities3. Conduct behavior assessments requiring their expertise (e.g. functional analysisand/or functional behavior assessments of ongoing problem behavior notappropriately or sufficiently addressed with less intensive interventions) when thoseassessments cannot appropriately be completed by another member of the schoolstaff4. Develops and maintains behavioral data and creates graphical data representationsand reports for progress monitoring on a monthly basis of students with disabilities.5.
Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of behavior support plans andprogramming6. Assists primary liaison for students case in monitoring and reporting on studentsbehavioral progress through data analysis and observation7. Provides initial and ongoing training to support staff to implement behavior supportplans and data collection systems in conjunction with liaisons8. Assists in the development and implementation of IEPs9.
Serve as a consistent resource to classroom teachers, special education teachers,and IAs/ABA technicians10. Travel from site to site and/or perform necessary home visits for the purpose ofproviding direct treatment, consultation, and collaboration for students and families.11. Supervise BCBA candidates, IA/ABA staff and/or Registered Behavior Technicians(RBTs) within the Northbridge Public Schools, as appropriate12. Participate in required professional development, such as physical restraint training,CPR/First Aid certification, and staff meetings and extended day sessions13.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Personnel ServicesEvaluation: The BCBA shall be throughout the school year by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services and/or their designee based on the knowledge and responsibilities detailed in the job description.Salary & Benefits: Education level and experience in the role of BCBA will be considered. Salary to be negotiated with the Superintendent of SchoolsEmployment Terms: School year, including teacher meeting day and all professional development days, as determined by the Northbridge Public Schools School Committee and Superintendent of Schools; Daily hours to be determined by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services; The Extended School Year (ESY) program runs up to five (5) weeks during the months of July and August. Days and hours to be scheduled between the BCBA and the Director of Pupil Personnel Services, based on student needs.
