Settlements Analyst

Our client, a well-known Financial Services firm in Jersey City, is looking for a Settlements & Clearing Analyst to join its team.

Responsibilities:

• Support clearing, settlement, and post-trade operations across fixed income, futures, and derivatives products.
• Assist with operational readiness and implementation efforts for new clearing requirements across cash and repo markets.
• Monitor and process daily margin activity, including initial margin, variation margin, and margin calls.
• Coordinate cash movements, wire payments, and settlement activity to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Work with trading desks, internal operations teams, clearing brokers, and external counterparties to resolve operational breaks and discrepancies.
• Investigate issues related to trade processing, clearing, settlement, margin, and collateral management.
• Support client clearing activities and maintain accurate records in accordance with established procedures and controls.
• Identify process gaps and contribute to workflow improvements, system enhancements, and implementation projects.

Qualifications:

• Experience in financial services operations, particularly clearing, settlements, futures, derivatives, or post-trade processing.
• Understanding of trade lifecycles, clearing and settlement processes, margin management, and cash movements.
• Exposure to futures, listed derivatives, exchange-traded derivatives, or fixed income products.
• Experience with margin processing, wire payments, cash management, collateral management, or client clearing is preferred.
• Familiarity with clearinghouses such as CME, LCH, or ICE Clear is a plus.
• Experience with systems such as GMI, FIS GMI, Calypso, or Murex is beneficial.
