Sr. GL Accountant

Northbay Recruiter is partnering with a mid-sized, service-industry client in Solano County is in search of a Sr. GL Accountant. This is a newly created position that will contribute to an overall high-performing accounting department. The Sr. GL Accountant will play a critical part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the GL, fixed assets, and ensuring compliance with lease accounting standards, as well as supporting the greater accounting cycle. Applicants who enjoy working at a fast pace and thrive in a high-volume & deadline driven environment are encouraged to apply.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Fixed Asset Management:Track capital expenditures, depreciation, and asset disposalsMaintain fixed asset register, ensuring all acquisitions, disposals, and transfers are accurately recordedReconcile fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledgerCalculate and record depreciation for all fixed assets Lease Accounting:Implement and maintain lease accounting processesAnalyze lease contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatmentCalculate and record right-of-use assets and lease liabilitiesMonitor lease modifications and reassessmentsAssist in lease-related financial reporting and disclosuresGeneral Ledger Maintenance:Oversee and maintain the integrity of the general ledgerPerform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliationsAnalyze complex GL accounts and resolve discrepanciesPrepare and post journal entries, assist in month-end and year-end close processProcess Improvement and Automation:Support in identifying opportunities for process improvements and automationImplement best practices in accounting processesDocument and maintain standard operating proceduresDesired Qualifications:BS Accounting and 3-4 years relevant work experience in GL and Fixed Assets, preferably within a multi-location environmentPubic accounting/Audit foundation highly preferredHigh level Excel proficiency and ERP systems experience (MS Dynamics, Oracle, SAP, etc).Ability to work independently within a deadline driven environmentAbility to work in office a minimum of 3 days/week based on business needs.Salary Range: $100,000-120,000k annual plus benefits: MDV, 401k, PTO, Sick Time and Paid HolidaysSchedule: 3 days a week in office minimum, potentially more depending on volume of workload and seasonal demand
