At NorthBay Healthcare an Accountant II works under limited supervision of the Manager of Accounting to help produce and analyze accurate and timely financial statements for all assigned NorthBay Healthcare companies and divisions.

Compensation Structure
NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
At NorthBay Healthcare an Accountant II works under limited supervision of the Manager of Accounting to help produce and analyze accurate and timely financial statements for all assigned NorthBay Healthcare companies and divisions.
Primary Job Duties
- Prepares intermediate level monthly journal entries. Prepares, reviews, analyzes, and interprets assigned monthly financial statements, reports and all related sub-schedules for use by management. Processes entries and financials for related entities.
- Maps new General Ledger accounts in Budget Advisor according to OSHPD guidelines and NBHS standards.
- Prepares monthly account analysis and reconciliation of all assigned general ledger accounts.
- Prepares, reviews, and analyzes biweekly and monthly reports timely, accurately and consistently.
- Prepares assigned annual audit schedules and assists all outside auditors.
- Evaluates and implements appropriate internal control procedures to assure that the financial transactions of the corporation are appropriately and accurately recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Assists management with other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. in Accounting or 8 years of experience as an accountant at this level.
- 3 years accounting experience minimum.
- Able to work effectively under tight time constraints.
- Must be able to analyze accounting and operational problems and be able to recommend viable solutions to those problems.
- Must be able to initiate procedural changes in response to changes in the external environment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to make appropriate independent judgments on subjective accounting estimates.
- Must be able to assess the reasonableness of the results of their own work.
- P.C. Skills: Proficient level Windows and Office (emphasis in Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to work with Lawson general ledger systems.
- Requires a high comfort level with taking initiative and responsibility, high energy and productivity and the ability to manage details in an organized work style.
- Must be able to manage time and changing priorities effectively
