Job Title: School Nutrition Substitute
Reports To: School Nutrition Manager and School Nutrition Director
Job Summary:
The School Nutrition Substitute assists in the preparation, serving, and clean-up of nutritious meals for students in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines. This position helps ensure that students receive healthy meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with preparing and serving breakfast and lunch to students and staff.

Operate and clean kitchen equipment and utensils according to safety and sanitation standards.

Stock and organize food and supply storage areas as directed.

Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries following inventory procedures.

Wash dishes, trays, and serving equipment.

Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handwashing and glove use.

Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen, serving area, and dining space.

Support the School Nutrition Manager and team with any assigned tasks to ensure meal service runs smoothly.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Basic math, reading, and recordkeeping skills.

Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions.
