Bakery Porter / Prep Assistant
Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Bakery Porter / Prep Assistant to support our daily bakery operations. This is a hands-on role that involves assisting with basic baking and food preparation, following simple recipes, washing dishes, cleaning, and keeping the bakery organized. The ideal candidate is a team player who is willing to learn, takes pride in keeping a clean workspace, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist bakers with basic food preparation and baking tasks.
- Follow simple recipes and instructions to prepare ingredients and bakery products.
- Measure, mix, portion, and prepare ingredients as directed.
- Wash dishes, baking trays, mixing bowls, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
- Clean and sanitize workstations, counters, floors, and equipment.
- Keep the kitchen, storage areas, and bakery workspace clean and organized.
- Help receive, unpack, label, and store deliveries and ingredients properly.
- Restock ingredients and supplies as needed.
- Take out trash and recycling and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Assist the baking team with other daily tasks as needed.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Willingness to learn basic baking and food preparation skills.
- Able to follow recipes, instructions, and established procedures.
- Comfortable washing dishes and performing cleaning duties.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
- Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift and carry supplies as needed.
- Previous bakery, kitchen, or food service experience is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 per week
