Job Title: Certified High-Dosage Literacy Tutor 

Location: Mosier, Oregon 

Position Type: Part-time/3 days a week 3 hours per day. 

Wages: $40 - $60 per hour (dependent on experience)

Job Description: 

We are seeking a dedicated and certified High-Dosage Literacy Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering literacy skills in learners and committed to providing intensive, personalized instruction to help students achieve their reading and writing goals. 

Responsibilities: 

• Provide high-quality, one-on-one or small group literacy instruction to students in accordance with established curriculum and instructional guidelines. 
• Assess students' literacy skills using formal and informal assessments to identify strengths, weaknesses, and learning needs. 
• Develop individualized literacy plans for each student based on assessment results, tailored to address specific areas of need and promote growth. 
• Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to support students' literacy development, including phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills. ? Monitor and track students' progress regularly through ongoing assessments, progress monitoring tools, and data analysis, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure continuous improvement. 
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians to communicate student progress, share instructional strategies, and develop support plans for students as needed. ? Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, progress, and instructional interventions. 
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and stay abreast of current research and best practices in literacy education. 
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and respecting students' diverse backgrounds, cultures, and learning styles.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Literacy, or related field. 
• Valid teaching certification/license or specialized literacy certification (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System). 
• Previous experience working as a literacy tutor or educator, preferably in a high-needs school setting. 
• Strong knowledge of literacy development, reading theories, and instructional strategies. ? Ability to assess student learning needs and adapt instruction accordingly. ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues. 
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students' literacy growth. ? Organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and documentation.
