Job Purpose Statement/s – Educucational Leader:
The Jumpstart Kindergarten Site Administrator supports the Jumpstart Kindergarten Coordinator with planning, outreach, and daily oversight of JSK summer classes. The administrator reports directly to the coordinator to conduct work necessary to develop and implement a successful program.
Job Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters or Doctorate Degree in either Education or Administration (prefer a focus on curriculum and instruction).
- Successful classroom teaching experience at either the elementary or secondary level preferred.
Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:
Skills to appropriately manage personnel, programs and fiscal resources, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and problem solve. Knowledge of;
- curriculum and instruction based on best practices,
- research on effective teaching strategies particularly with English Language Learners and special needs learners,
- State and Federal Education Law, District Policies, Collective Bargaining Agreement, types of assessment and how to effectively use assessment data for school improvement and staff development.
Ability to provide direction to others and make independent judgments, keep and maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds, communicate in oral and written form.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
- Oregon Administrative Licensure preferred.
- Oregon TSPC License
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance (through Teacher Standards and Practices), Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability and district drug screen.
Essential Job Functions:
Planning and Preparation
- Facilitate district-level planning meetings, professional development, and scheduling
- Engage with partners such as Early Learning Hubs, Head Start, childcare providers, tribal nations, and community-based organizations
- Connect with operational teams (custodial, meals, transportation) to support alignment with other summer programs
- Engage with special education teams, Migrant Education, and McKinney-Vento teams to ensure inclusion
- Support Jumpstart Kindergarten Coordinator and school teams to plan programming
- Collaborate with school teams to support family engagement activities
- Gather and organize materials and resources
Outreach
- Support Jumpstart Kindergarten Coordinator with outreach to Community partners
- Monitor enrollment in Jump Start Kindergarten
- Monitor early registration
On-site leadership during programming
- Provide supervision and direction to staff
- Observe family engagement
- Address attendance issues
- Collaborate with school teams to ensure family engagement activities are inclusive, culturally responsive and affirming
Data/Continuous Improvement
- Analyze student-level data
- Analyze family-level data: Who participated and who did not?
- Conduct focus groups with families who attended and who did not attend
