Responsibilities

• Assist with animal restraint, handling, and care to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
• Support veterinary technicians with procedures such as IV insertions, catheterizations, medication administration, and wound care
• Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning, sanitation, and equipment sterilization in accordance with veterinary standards and PPE protocols
• Help manage front desk duties including client communication, appointment scheduling, record keeping, and answering inquiries professionally
• Handle pet care tasks such as feeding, grooming, walking (including equine handling if applicable), and monitoring animal behavior to promote comfort and well-being
• Support surgical procedures by preparing instruments, assisting during operations, and ensuring proper post-operative care
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatments, medications administered, and patient progress

Skills

• Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background; or strong interest in veterinary medicine and animal health.
• Veterinary clinic experience with knowledge of veterinary terminology, record keeping, medication administration, and animal physiology would be beneficial, but is not wholly required.
• Strong animal handling skills including dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and understanding of animal behavior is ideal, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Experience with veterinary critical care procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, and emergency response protocols is beneficial, if not present, we are willing to train the correct candidates.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions while demonstrating empathy and professionalism
• Familiarity with surgical support tasks and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety during procedures is ideal, if not present, training will be provided.
• Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to assist in diagnostic or treatment activities is ideal, and will make training and promotion more efficient.

Pay: $19.50 - $28.00 per hour
