Environmental Service Technician

Job Summary: Perform environmental service duties that promote a safe, clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment that contributes positively to the healing process. To do so in a manner that is least disruptive and harmoniously in tune with the goals and needs of visitors, physicians, and the staff of other departments. To be considerate, courteous, and polite to all who enter the facility, demonstrating the key values and concern and providing assistance as required.

Essential Job Functions:

• Clean rooms or other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Maintain quality standards through the use of standard cleaning procedures and protocols including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash and medical waste removal while following patient isolation or other special situations in accordance with facility standards.
• Stock paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
• Maintain supplies and/or equipment in clean and working condition.
• Report all work and safety needs to leadership.
• Ensures compliance with all required process and procedural steps.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to operate autonomously on a varying set of tasks.
• Requires mobility and ability to move, lift, push, and pull equipment & supplies.
• Demonstrates understanding and respect for the personal dignity and values of all patients and visitors.
• Must be able to use all job specific equipment required to clean and maintain the facility.
• Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently and on a team.

Qualifications, Training, and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years of experience in healthcare
• 2 years of experience in housekeeping or service-related field
