Job Summary
We are seeking a caring and reliable Medical Assistant to join our dermatology team. This position involves direct patient care and ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and enjoys the supportive atmosphere of a small, close-knit office.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and room patients and take brief medical history regarding reason for visit
- Assist providers during skin exams, biopsies, cryotherapy, and other in-office procedures
- Prepare sterile trays and instruments and maintain exam room readiness
- Label and process biopsy specimens and complete pathology requisitions accurately
- Remove sutures, apply dressings, and assist with wound care as directed
- Assist provider with accurate documentation in the EMR (will train)
- Write prescriptions and prescription refills in the EMR
- Support patient flow and assist with occasional front-desk tasks as needed
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and infection-control guidelines at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant diploma or certification preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent)
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical office; dermatology experience preferred
- Excellent communication and patient-service skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently
- Dependable, team-oriented, and professional
- Familiarity with EMR systems

- Monday to Thursday
