What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Residential Services position at North Valley Services?
A. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
- Provides oversight management of Specialized Residential Services through organizational staff. Manages regulatory issues for agency compliance.
B. PRIMARY SCHEDULE:
- Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. (Days and hours may vary and include evenings, Holidays, and weekends, as needed.)
C.SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
- Works under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer.
D. SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
- Is responsible for supervising Site Supervisors/Administrators, Lead staff, and Administrative Assistant.
E. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Baccalaureate degree from an approved institution in social work, rehabilitation counseling, or rehabilitation administration plus 18 months experience, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience and at least 18 months in a supervisory capacity in the human services delivery field.
- Current California driver’s license, with an acceptable DMV printout and insurability.
- Ability to pass a DOJ criminal background check.
- Ability to pass CPR and First Aid courses.
- Ability to create and maintain documents using Excel and Word. Overall familiarity with computer programs.
- Ability to be certified in all NVS intervention training including Behavior Tools, PCM Practitioner Level 2.
- Understanding of contract processes and procedures.
- Ability to effectively write program designs.
- Understanding of Title 17 and Title 22 regulations.
- Current Administrator Certificate maintains compliance with the Community Care Licensing Division.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
F. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows all procedures, policies, and guidelines of North Valley Services.
- Participates in the development of goals and quality of services that carry out the agency’s mission.
- Ensures that the mission of NVS is meeting expected/desired outcomes.
- Provide support and direction in the training and development of staff.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal and State regulations.
- Attends all regular Board Meetings and Strategic Planning meetings.
- Works effectively with the Executive Leadership team.
- Keeps CEO informed and/or advises of proposed/necessary changes.
- Works effectively as a team leader soliciting input for planning and writing Performance Reviews as required.
- Reviews, and approves Administrator and staff timecards either independently or via a designee.
- Supervises, and coordinates employees’ daily schedules.
- Ensures proper adherence to individual program plans.
- Coordinates Program and Contract Development.
- Generates, reviews, and approves GERs, incident reports, and injury reports.
- Manages, and investigates internal department complaints; procedure to include collecting statements, plan of action, and document outcome.
- Manages personnel issues, following the Progressive Disciplinary Policy.
- Conducts monthly all-staff meetings.
- Conducts weekly administrator meetings.
- Conducts residential offices monthly safety inspections with evacuation drills.
- Performs staff evaluations.
- Utilizes critical thinking and organization skills.
- Additional duties as assigned.
