POSTION TITLE: Universal Banker III

REPORTS TO: Branch Manager and SVP/Retail Branch Administrator

LOCATION: Buckeye Lake

STATUS: Non- Exempt/ Full Time

This position, as well as all NVB positions, is responsible for carrying out the Bank’s mission statement:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform any and all responsibilities of the teller line (run and balance a working Universal Banker window, verifying cash, balancing the vault, buying and selling money to / from branches, preparing mutilated money for return to

Federal Reserve, monitoring cash recycler for loading needs, assist in answering incoming calls and customer inquiries, follow regulatory guidelines, and provide excellent customer service)

  • Provide and take responsibility for supervisor overrides on Universal Banker transactions
  • Conducts monthly scheduling and job responsibilities of all Universal Banker’s.
  • Ensures proper staffing for opening and closing of branch
  • Works jointly with other offices to assist in staffing at their locations if needed
  • Works with the Human Resource Officer to schedule and / or conduct any necessary training for Universal Banker.
  • Coaches any mentors those individuals that report to this position
  • Exhibits fairness and impartiality with staff interactions
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities for the personal growth and development of staff
  • Handle any issues that may arise on the front line and serve as a point of contact for customers and fellow employees who wish to provide feedback, both positive and negative.

  • Acts as a liaison between staff and upper management
  • Participates in accepting and processing loan applications as needed
  • DCP Operations
  • Open and Revise Customer Deposit Accounts
  • Ability to open all deposit account products offered by North Valley Bank
  • Working knowledge of deposit regulations and loans
  • Branch Capture/T Magic cash letter operations
  • Unload courier bags from courier vehicle. Verify content of bags, maintaining duel control procedures.
  • Assumes responsibilities for signing checks or tickets for cash back in the amount of $1,000 or more
  • Process credit card transactions/Cash Advances
  • Assist in the bank-by-mail function
  • Accepts request for name and address changes, checks reorder forms, and similar special services
  • Assist Universal Bankers in locating cash discrepancies, manages unusual window transactions, and answers difficult customer questions.
  • Cross selling banking products and services
  • Maintains main vault supply for Universal Banker needs and balances vault daily
  • Assists with Federal Reserve cash shipments and/or Branch to Branch
  • Oversees all Universal Banker activities and issues written and oral instructions on Universal Banker operations as necessary
  • Provide guidance and assistance to tellers with more complex transactions as well as continuous coaching and training on new procedures.
  • Conducts monthly audits of all Universal Banker cash boxes
  • Provides on-the-job training for new tellers during orientation and as needed
  • Assists Branch Manager in monitoring and documenting Universal Banker performance and work ethics, to allow for timely performance reviews.
  • Provides excellent customer service by direct contact or by answering the telephone, assisting customers with questions and concerns regarding their North

Valley Bank accounts, or directing customers to the appropriate personnel for assistance

  • Greets all customers as they walk into our lobby or pull into the drive thru. Never leaving the lobby unattended and never leave only one person on the front line.
  • Establishes and maintains good customer relationships
  • Maintains self-education about North Valley Bank Products
  • Observes all security procedures during the opening and closing of the branch
  • Maintains Universal Banker area and stations in a neat, clean, and orderly manner
  • Secures and properly controls cash, negotiable items, passwords and keys
  • Performs ordering of checks for customers and ensures proper supplies are ordered for new account responsibilities (checkbook and savings registers, vinyl covers, etc.)
  • Maintains the privacy of customer information and the security of all records
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures
  • Understand and adheres to the responsibilities associated with BSA and AML in relation to job performed.
  • Utilizes the customer’s name in every transaction
  • Thank every customer for their business at the conclusion of their transactions.
  • Smiles, and brings a positive attitude to every transaction.
  • Conduct work relationships/interactions professionally with customers, supervisors, coworkers, and others: o Maintain high levels of confidentiality o Conduct conversations in a professional manner o Dress in accordance with bank policy o Successfully attend and complete all mandatory and elective training
  • Maintain extensive contact with customers, the public and the community, conducting relationships that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bank.
  • Participate in community organizations and community projects
  • Assumes any and all other responsibilities assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred minimum two year advanced educations (Associates degree)
  • 3-7 Years banking experience or training
  • Assistant Management experience required (others having reported directly to you)

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with limited supervision, and be a self-starter
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to react to stressful situations with professionalism while remaining calm
  • Must be tolerant of all personality types of clients, customers, employees, vendors, and others o Must have strong coaching and mentoring skills

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk; reach with hands and arms; use hands; talk and hear; lift or move up to 25 pounds; may occasionally need to stoop or kneel.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
