Job Description
The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Technician supports NTTA’s Intelligent Transportation Systems by configuring and deploying/installing equipment, using applications for monitoring, troubleshooting system issues, testing equipment, and working with vendors. This position also requires technicians to be on a rotating on-call schedule, overtime, when necessary, and be available for emergency call-outs during off hours, non-scheduled weekends, and holidays.
Starting Rate: $20.07/hourly - $26.41/hourly
Retention Bonus: $1,500

- Supports and maintains ITS systems and equipment by configuring, troubleshooting equipment failures, replacing defective parts, routing cables and wiring equipment, and
- Cable management of ITS cabinets and gantries.
- Documenting work through the ticketing system and responding to emails and phone calls to support SOC and TIMS Department.
- Performs preventive and proactive maintenance on ITS equipment, according to manufacturer’s guidelines by inspecting, testing, and servicing the equipment to ensure proper system operations and reduce downtime.
- Installation of various equipment (up to 100ft in air), including antennas, CCTV cameras, Wavetronix devices and Connected Vehicle equipment.
- Troubleshooting equipment using various software applications for remote fix and on-site troubleshooting skills for quick fix or device replacement.
- Performs minimal electrical work involving low voltage devices.
- Terminate various cables and connections such as Cat-5, Cat-6, Coax, and unique wire specific to certain devices.
- Provide updates using Microsoft Office Applications such as Word and Excel.
- Operate a Bucket Truck at various heights up to 100ft and pull trailers to move equipment when needed.
Minimum:
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of education or training beyond a HS diploma.
- Up to 1 year of experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Possess a Class “B” CDL or ability to obtain within 2 years.
- Ability to operate bucket truck controls at various heights
- Ability to load/unload equipment which may weigh up to 100 lbs.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications,
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Video Management Certificate.
- Axis or Bosch Certified.
Salary : $20 - $1,500
