What are the responsibilities and job description for the ITS Supervisor position at North Texas Tollway Authority?
Summary:
The purpose of this position is to supervise the work of subordinate staff for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technology group. This is accomplished by implementing established protocols, developing, and guiding staff, supervising projects, and assessing staff and or vendor performance. Other duties include attending meetings related to projects as the subject matter expert (SME), assisting in expert advice for scheduling assignments, working with vendors and internal clients to develop new ideas, and recommend equipment suggestions to further the growth of the department.
Retention Bonus: $1500

Responsibilities:
- Supervises work and projects by scheduling and assigning tasks, monitoring performance and progress, ensuring availability of necessary tools and resources, inspecting work, compiling data, and maintaining reports of time and productivity tracking.
- Attends project and regular meetings ensuring IT requirements are met, relaying updates and changes.
- Participates in procurements on behalf of the IT Department which may include writing and reviewing scope documents and participating on the selection committees.
- Develops, coaches and mentors assigned staff, by documenting performances and areas of improvement.
- Documents meetings and other critical conversations and decision points for ITS projects.
- Supervises the design and configuration of roadway system equipment by reviewing and monitoring the design of both physical structure and plan drawings, building and configuration of equipment.
- Inspects the installation and maintenance of roadway system equipment by reviewing installations performed by technicians and/or contractors.
- Performs weekly status meetings with vendors and internal customers providing updates and resolving any issues.
- Attends training courses and ensures direct reports are properly trained.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- 5-7 years’ experience, with 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent.
- Experienced understanding of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to write reports, reviews and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Professional Certification related to ITS fields such as DMS, Cameras, etc.
- 5 years plus of management/supervisory experience
- Network Configuration experience
