Water Distribution Operator I

Summary of Position:
The Water Distribution Worker I will operate the sewer Jet and T.V. Trucks; perform manual labor, skilled maintenance, repair of water and sewer mains, and operate heavy equipment. This position allows for a great deal of learning and professional growth as the position is quite diverse. As an Operator your key role is to maintain high-quality water distribution and wastewater collection systems in order to ensure safe and dependable services to the community.

Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude and the intellect to continually learn a fairly complex water system is required. Must be punctual, attentive, hardworking, and safety minded. Must be able to communicate and get along with co-workers. Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions, perform rotating “On-Call” duties, and be willing to occasionally work overtime. Welding, fabricating, and, or, equipment maintenance, are a plus.

Job Requirements
Valid Colorado driver’s license.
Must submit to pre-hire and random drug screenings and background check.
Must be able to obtain at least Class B CDL within three months of hire as a prerequisite of continued employment.
Must obtain level 1 Distribution/Collection certifications within 3 testing cycles or 1 year as a prerequisite of continued employment and obtain a minimum Distribution/Collection Level II within a reasonable amount of time.
