Our team values connection, curiosity, high-quality care, and strong relationships. We are seeking a dedicated Multi-Age Flex Educator to support multiple classrooms and age groups across the center.
Position Overview:
The Multi-Age Flex Educator is a long-term, year-round position designed to provide consistent support across our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. This role is essential to maintaining quality and stability, especially during periods of planned staff absences. A key responsibility includes providing extended classroom coverage during maternity leaves and other long-term teacher absences, ensuring continuity of care, smooth transitions, and a nurturing learning environment for children.
This educator must be adaptable, confident with a wide range of ages, and able to step into any classroom with professionalism, warmth, and a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide developmentally appropriate, nurturing care in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms
- Support each classroom's teaching goals, daily routines, and curriculum plans
- Build positive, responsive relationships with children across age groups
- Assist with early learning experiences, including language development, social-emotional growth, and hands-on exploration
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Uphold NAEYC standards and Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS)
- Collaborate with teachers and leadership to support smooth transitions and program quality
- Communicate professionally with families and colleagues
- Provide reliable extended coverage during teacher maternity leaves and other planned absences
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, CDA, or relevant experience leading a classroom.
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers
- Strong understanding of child development and CT ELDS
- Flexible, dependable, and comfortable adapting to different classrooms and teaching styles
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a background check
