What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing and Communications Intern position at North Star Mutual Insurance Company?
The Agency and Support Services Department manages contracts, relationships and communication with the independent agencies that represent North Star Mutual. The department also develops and maintains promotional, sales, marketing, and training materials for the company. Additional responsibilities include coordinating of external communications, company advertising and branding, as well as facilitating incoming and outgoing mailings and phone calls.
North Star Mutual Insurance Company is looking for applicants for our spring 2026 Marketing and Communications internship. Students will have the opportunity to assist with company marketing and advertising programs, design and maintenance of company sales materials and communications (ads, brochures, flyers, etc.), and development of company presentations, newsletters, press releases, and online content.
Individuals with knowledge of brand and communications strategy, multi-media production and channels, as well as design principals and tools, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and with others are encouraged to apply.
The pursuit of a bachelors degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field is required for this internship. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the North Star Mutual School of Business at Southwest Minnesota State University.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
