$19.50 - $26.50 per hour, depending on experience
$750 SIGN-ON BONUS!
The Activity Assistant is responsible for assisting the Activity Director in the planning and implementation of group and 1:1 activity programs designed to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation and fulfillment, and improve daily living skills of residents.
We are hiring for the following part-time hours:
Two days / week: 4pm - 8pm plus one weekend / month: 8am - 4:30pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assists with the planning and completion of the monthly activity calendar.
· Post and assure residents are aware of activity time and location
· Conduct planned activity and encourage resident participation
· Greet new arrivals to activities, introducing them to other residents, and encouraging participation.
· Converses with residents to reinforce positive behaviors and to promote social interaction.
· Provide feeding assistance to those who need it.
· Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to residents in recreational activities and demonstrate use of materials when necessary.
· Accompany and assist residents on scheduled outings
· Documents activity attendance and participation levels and reports any changes or concerns to nursing and Activity Director.
· Track activity department supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. The individual must be able to successfully pass background checks.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- High school diploma preferred
- Prior nursing home and/or activities experience preferred.
