Math Tutor for Individual Instruction
The Mohawk Trail Regional School District is seeking a tutor in the area of mathematics to provide 1:1 instruction to a 13-year-old student:
- 4, one-hour sessions per week
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
- Flexible scheduling, during regular school hours
- Tutoring sessions to be held at North Star, a self-directed learning center in Sunderland, MA
- Compensation to include prepping and planning lessons
- Position to begin immediately
- $40 per hour
Experience Preferred:
- DESE licensure in Mathematics, K-8, and/or Special Education for students with Moderate Disabilities, 5-12
- Background in teaching foundational math skills, including arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), fractions, decimals, percents, and proportions
- Experience teaching students with specific learning disabilities in math, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia, Autism spectrum disorders, and/or experience working with students with demand avoidance
- Experience planning and implementing evidence-based, specially designed instruction in math to help students with unique learning profiles experience success
- Creative problem-solving strategies to encourage engagement
- Training in AVMR
