Entry‑Level Low Voltage Technician (Commercial)

North Shore Technologies is a veteran‑owned, Northeast Ohio–based low‑voltage contractor with over 20 years of experience delivering clean, professional installations for commercial clients. We design, install, and support structured cabling, fiber, security, access control, Wi‑Fi, and related low‑voltage systems for offices, warehouses, healthcare, retail, and industrial facilities.

We are hiring an Entry‑Level Low Voltage Technician to join our field team.
No prior low‑voltage experience is required — we will train the right candidate.

Pay & Growth

Starting Pay: $17.00 – $19.50 per hour (based on experience)

This position follows North Shore Technologies’ structured Low‑Voltage Wage Ladder, with scheduled 30 / 90 / 180‑day performance reviews. Pay increases are based on reliability, skill development, quality of work, productivity, and the ability to work with less supervision.

What You’ll Do

As an entry‑level technician, you will assist with the installation of low‑voltage cabling and systems in commercial environments, including:

  • Pulling and routing low‑voltage cable (CAT5e, CAT6, fiber, coax)
  • Assisting with rough‑in, cable dressing, and pathway installation
  • Installing cable supports (J‑hooks, D‑rings, cable tray, racks)
  • Learning proper termination, labeling, and testing methods
  • Working in ceilings, telecommunications rooms, and work areas
  • Supporting senior technicians with organized, clean installs
  • Maintaining professional jobsite appearance and safety standards

Training is provided, and responsibilities increase as skills develop.

Required Qualifications

  • Dependable, punctual, and ready to work every day
  • Willingness to learn and work with your hands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and at heights when required
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Smartphone for job communication (texting, photos, directions)
  • Basic computer skills (email, web, simple documentation)
  • Professional attitude with coworkers, clients, and other trades

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Construction, electrical, or low‑voltage experience
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Experience on commercial job sites

Work Environment

This position involves typical commercial construction conditions, including:

  • Working in active commercial facilities
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and mechanical environments
  • Occasional work at heights (ladders, lifts, rooftops)

Safety training and proper equipment are provided.
