What are the responsibilities and job description for the Religious School Teacher position at North Shore Synagogue?
North Shore Synagogue, a Reform Synagogue in Syosset, convenient to the LIRR, is looking for a high energy, creative, passionate, and caring teacher to start in January 2026 for our growing school.
We are seeking a 5th and 6th grade Judaics teacher on Monday afternoons and Sunday mornings for our one day a week innovative Religious School. Classes meet on Sundays from 9:15-11:30am and Mondays from 4:15-6:30 PM.
The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, is able to connect with learners of different learning styles, is a team player, and is dedicated to engaging our children and helping them prepare for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, and instilling in them a love for Judaism.
Our team is looking for people who think outside of the box and are open to trying new avenues of teaching Judaism.
The ideal candidate has teaching experience, and has excellent classroom management skills.
