What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at North Shore Pharmacy?
We are an independent pharmacy in Huntington, NY, seeking a full-time pharmacy technician with solid independent pharmacy experience. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of hands-on experience using Micro Merchant and a strong understanding of day-to-day pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter prescriptions using Micro Merchant
- Resolve insurance rejections and related issues
- Manage prior authorizations from start to finish
- Communicate with doctor's offices regarding refills, clarifications, and PAs
- Support the pharmacist with daily pharmacy operations
- Maintain organization, accuracy, and compliance
- Provide professional communication with patients and providers
Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of experience using Micro Merchant
- Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician (not front register or cashier)
- Strong knowledge of insurance processing and prior authorizations
- Comfortable working in a moderate-volume independent pharmacy
