Job description
North Shore Center for Speech, Language & Swallowing Disorders a well-established, growing private practice on Long Island, is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to work in an adult nursing home in southern Nassau County, New York . North Shore Center has employees who have been working for us for over 25 years. With room to grow, support, and the right amount of independence, there is no need to go anywhere else. North Shore Center provides quality speech pathology services to rehabilitation centers, home care, hospitals, outpatient and nursing homes, and New York State Early Intervention. We have SLPs who specialize in and utilize Modified Barium Swallow Studies, Fiber-endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing Studies, VitalStim, the Visi-Pitch, and various biofeedback devices to remediate deficits in voice and swallowing disorders. Many of our SLPs work with patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric in various settings.

CFY's are welcome. Complete your CF in 9 months full-time by working part time in adult nursing home and part time providing Early Intervention services in childrens homes. Experienced in-person supervision provided. 

North Shore Center for Speech is also currently seeking full-time employees and contract Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Special Educators for home-based pediatric Early Intervention services  in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Early Intervention (EI), birth to 3-year-old program specialists assist in the screening, assessment, identification, and treatment of children presenting with developmental delays or disabilities; assist students in the development of cognitive, communication, oral feeding, social and emotional, adaptive, fine and gross motor skills within the home, preschool, and other community settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical goals
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and caregivers to support patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and records
  • Provide education and guidance to families regarding communication and/or oral feeding strategies
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and continuing education opportunities
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current New York State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, or Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates are welcome (Clinical Fellowship full-time only)
  • Experience with speech and language treatment for birth-3 and/or experience in nursing home population. 
  •  Experience  working with patients with dysphgagia or desire to learn
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical reasoning, and treatment planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
