What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager – Event Décor Production & Delivery position at North Shore Balloon Decor?
Looking for a dependable, detail-oriented team member with an eye for design to join us in producing, delivering, and installing balloon décor that wows our clients. Hours average 30-40 per week.
Schedule
As an events based role, this position operates primarily Friday 7-5, Saturday 7-7, and Sunday 7-6 with 1-2 weekday shifts.
Some weeks involve late night cleanups which are paid at time and half. Additional weekday hours available if interested.
The Role
This role is a mix of onsite installation and delivery with some in shop balloon creation. While training you'll complete and/or delivery simple items like balloons columns, bouquets and small arches. As you expand in your role, we'll teach you how to set up balloon arches and do custom styled decor.
Required. A driver's license, good communication and customer service, reliability and timeliness. A team based, positive attitude. The ability to problem solve if needed.
Responsibilities
- Review and prepare orders based on pull sheets
- Inflate, assemble, and pack balloon décor in the studio
- Load, deliver, and install and breakdown décor at event sites
- Follow design specs to ensure polished, professional set-ups
- Communicate clearly with clients and represent the company professionally on-site
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and vehicle
- Problem-solve logistics independently and ensure on-time delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Friendly, reliable, and professional demeanor
- Driving experience in Chicago
- Strong attention to detail (double-checking orders, measuring installs, etc.)
- Ability to lift 30–40 lbs and work on ladders when needed
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Comfortable working independently and on a team
- Creative or event experience a plus (but not required — we’ll train!)

12 outdoor balloon arch setup north suburban team (team)
2pm shop, put away balloons
3pm inflate helium balloons
4pm Chicago pickup (team)
6pm paint and decorate backdrop for Sunday
Sunday
load trucks 8 am.
9am backdrop and bouquet delivery north suburbs (solo)
11 am pickup balloon arch north suburbs (solo)
1pm delivery of separate balloon arch and light up numbers north suburbs (solo)
2 pm Chicago loop delivery to hotel room (solo)
4pm Chicago art museum (team) install of 45 foot garland and 2 arches
7pm back to shop
