North Shore Academy is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and adaptable Paraprofessional to provide individualized (1:1) and small-group support for students with exceptional learning needs. Some students may be nonverbal or require additional academic, behavioral, communication, or daily living support.
This position is ideal for someone who is patient, observant, calm under pressure, and passionate about helping students reach their full potential.
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct 1:1 support and small-group instruction
- Assist students with academic, behavioral, social, and communication goals.
- Implement individualized learning and behavior plans consistently.
- Encourage independence while providing appropriate levels of support.
- Monitor student safety at all times and respond proactively to changing needs.
- Help students transition between activities with patience and encouragement.
- Maintain accurate documentation as requested.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families.
- Foster a classroom environment where every student feels safe, respected, and capable.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or other exceptional needs is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in education, childcare, behavioral support, or related fields is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional education or training in education, psychology, special education, or a related field is welcomed but not required.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
