SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scituate SPARK (Summer Program: Adventure, Reading, and Knowledge) is a summer learning program currently in planning, designed to support students through engaging, hands-on learning and personalized instruction.
Use the SPARK resources to plan and deliver instruction.
● Reteach and implement evidence-based programs in math, ELA, and Specially Designed Instruction as applicable.
● Provide small group and individual instruction based on student needs.
● Provide a brief weekly report on the progress of each student
● Communicate with parents/guardians as needed
● Must possess a RI education certification.
● Preferred:

The program is expected to run July 6 through July 30, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30–11:30 AM (Staff hours are 8:15 AM - 11:45 AM) at North Scituate Elementary School, and will be offered to students who attend Scituate Schools and are entering Grades 1–6 in August 2026.
Scituate SPARK will provide very small-group instruction with low student-to-teacher ratios, allowing staff to work closely with each child and tailor learning to their individual needs. The program will focus on strengthening reading and mathematics skills while also offering fun, enriching science experiences to keep students engaged and curious.
Our approach is grounded in strong instructional practices and uses student data to help guide student instruction and learning. This means your child will receive targeted support, additional practice, and personalized instruction to build confidence and make meaningful progress over the summer. Students will work with certified teachers and trained staff, including paraprofessionals, who will collaborate to create a supportive and positive learning environment.

Monday–Thursday
July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026
Note that staff will also be required to:
Attend a one-hour paid orientation, offered at flexible times during the week of June 15
Student Hours
8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Staff Hours
8:15 AM – 11:45 AM
Plus 30 minutes of paid planning time each day
Compensation
$50 per hour
Includes an additional 0.5 hour of paid planning time daily
