What are the responsibilities and job description for the ATHLETIC WEIGHT TRAINER position at North Rowan High School?
Athletic Coach: Strength & Conditioning (part-time)
Reports to: Athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the school principal.
Supervises: All sports teams (men and women) on group and individual lifting programs, agility, and conditioning. Work with the individual sports teams coaches to ensure they are working towards their teams strength & conditioning goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
? Has the ability to organize and supervise a comprehensive sports strength & conditioning program.
? Has previous successful experience in strength & conditioning (preferable).
? Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of strength & conditioning and, at the same time, must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
? The position includes other unusual aspects such as extended time, risk injury factor and due process predicaments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Lead in designing, implementing, and testing strength & conditioning programs.
? Coordinate and run the weight room with enthusiasm and energy.
? Work in conjunction with the individual sports coaches to develop and implement the strength & conditioning goals for a variety of sports teams.
? Continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field
? Maintains discipline, adjusts grievances and works to increase morale and cooperation.
? Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment areas.
? Provide feedback and results based testing, documentation of athletes progress.
? Advises and works with the individual head coaches on recommended workout plans, methods, and/or procedural changes.
? Gives constant attention to a student athlete's grades and conduct.
? Provides training rules, schedule, calendar, and any other unique regulations of the program to each athlete who is considered a participant.
? Follows programs and policies concerning injuries, medical attention and emergencies.
? Directs student managers and assistants..
? Is accountable for all equipment
? Properly marks and identifies all equipment before issuing or storing.
? Monitors equipment rooms and authorizes who may enter, issue or requisition equipment.
? Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of specific sport equipment and facility used.
? Instill in each player a respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use.
Position Type:Part-Time ($3000 stipend)
