What are the responsibilities and job description for the K- 8 Academic Interventionist position at North Reading School District?
The L.D. Batchelder Elementary School/North Reading Middle School has an anticipated opening for a part-time Academic Interventionist to support students in literacy and/or math content. The Academic Interventionist works closely with classroom educators and provides direct services to students to improve student learning. You will be successful in this position if you can model best practices, as well as collaborate and communicate frequently with classroom educators and parents/guardians to best support student success in the areas of literacy and math.
The work schedule is Tuesday - Friday, 18 hours per week for 32 weeks. Tentatively scheduled as follows: 9:00 AM-1:30 PM.
Travel between the Batchelder Elementary School and North Reading Middle School is required.
Essential Duties:
- Continue delivery of the school's intervention program
- Collaborate with classroom educators for instructional planning and delivery
- Collect and interpret relevant assessment data to drive instruction
- Communicate specific student progress to educators, administrators, and parents/guardians as appropriate
- Prepare and deliver explicit, scientifically based content instruction to small groups of students
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to math and/or literacy as assigned by the supervisor
- Deliver assessments and progress monitoring
- Perform other duties assigned by the building Principal and/or their Designee
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in related content area(s) and grade levels
- Experience in reviewing and analyzing student learning data, setting goals, measuring progress, and instructional coaching
- Valid driver's License and reliable transportation
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Collaborative working demeanor
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
