What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher-Kindergarten (2026-2027) position at North Reading Public Schools?
The J. Turner Hood Elementary School is seeking a Full-Day Kindergarten Teacher starting in the 2026-2027 school year. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.
North Reading Public School Educators first contractual day is September 1, 2026. New educators are required to attend the two day new staff orientation on dates still to be determined.
Essential duties
- Unit/lesson planning
- Direct instruction of students
- Assessment of student learning and student report cards
- Be available to conference with parents/guardians and families as needed
- Work closely with our Kindergarten team to ensure pacing and learning expectations are maintained
- Other duties as requested by the Building Principal or their Designee
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, Masters Degree preferred
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in Early Childhood, grades PreK-2
- Experience with Fundations
- Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Collaborative working demeanor
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to implement good behavior management skills with students
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
