What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher-English Language Arts Long-Term Substitute position at North Reading Middle School?
North Reading Middle School is seeking a long-term substitute English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher tentatively from May 12, 2026, 2026 through June 24, 2026 (or the end of the 2025-2026 school year). Essential duties
- Unit/lesson planning
- Direct instruction of students
- Assessment of student learning
- Be available to conference with parents/guardians and families as needed or requested
- Collaborate with grade level and content teams to ensure pacing and learning expectations are maintained
- Other duties as requested by the Building Principal and/or Designee
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in English Language Arts, grades 5-12
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Collaborative working demeanor
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
