Teacher-Physical Education & Health/Family and Consumer Science Long-Term Substitute

North Reading High School is seeking a long-term substitute Physical Education & Health/Family and Consumer Science Teacher tentatively from May 20, 2026 through June 24, 2026 (or the end of the 2025-2026 school year). North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.

Essential duties 

• Unit/lesson planning
• Direct instruction of students
• Assessment of student learning
• Be available to conference with parents/guardians and families as needed or requested
• Work closely with the other physical education teachers and general arts team to ensure pacing and learning expectations are maintained
• Other duties as requested by the Building Principal 

 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in Physical Education, grades 5-12
• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in Health/Family and Consumer Sciences, All Levels, preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Collaborative working demeanor
• Excellent oral and written communication skills 
• At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
