Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (Noon)

About the Role: Courier
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient pickup, transportation, and delivery of mail, packages, and confidential materials across various agency locations. The driver ensures timely deliveries while complying with all traffic laws and maintaining professional and courteous conduct. Daily tasks include sorting and organizing items, following designated delivery routes, and keeping clear communication with supervisors regarding route updates or service interruptions. The role requires regular vehicle inspections and routine maintenance to ensure operational safety and cleanliness. A valid Colorado driver’s license and knowledge of local traffic regulations, safe driving practices, and basic vehicle upkeep are essential. The ideal candidate demonstrates reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick up and deliver mail, packages, and confidential materials to/from selected agency locations daily; may deliver mail to the post office and other designated sites as needed.
- Sort mail and other deliverable items following designated practices for each location.
- Follow assigned routes using approved navigational aids and communicating with the supervisor for route updates.
- Comply with state and local traffic regulations
- Visually inspect the exterior and interior of the vehicle pre- and post-shift, following company vehicle procedure to ensure good cosmetic condition as well as good mechanical condition.
- Clean and service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories as necessary; report safety or mechanical defects to supervisor immediately.
- Use a cellular phone or radio device when safely stopped to report an interruption of service or request medical assistance.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service, demonstrating shared Company values. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with a driving record that meets agency insurability requirements as set forth by the company driver policy.
- Ability to successfully pass a preemployment background check, drug screening, and CBI/FBI Fingerprinting requirements.
- Successful Motor Vehicle Report
Experience:
- No experience necessary, although familiarity with Weld County is preferred.
Knowledge of:
- Colorado traffic laws and regulations.
- Safe and courteous driving procedures and practices.
- Basic vehicle maintenance (i.e., checking and adding fluids, checking and maintaining tire pressure, etc.).
- Workplace policies and professionalism, structure, and procedures of NRBH.
- Organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
