Reports to: Food & Beverage Director
Shifts: Varies seasonally (primarily afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
Weekly Hours: Approximately 16–24 hours per week
Availability Requirement: Must be available to work during November and December, including weekends and holidays.
Compensation Note: We are a non-tipping establishment and hire at competitive wages above minimum wage.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Provides attentive and personalized service to members and guests during the Club’s peak season, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. Responsible for taking food and beverage orders, delivering items efficiently, anticipating members’ needs, and resolving any issues with professionalism. Must maintain menu knowledge, collaborate with the service team, and consistently uphold service standards with a positive, team-oriented approach.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Sets up side stations and performs assigned side (prep) work before and after service.
- Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating.
- Ensures children are safely and appropriately seated.
- Distributes menus and answers questions about menu items and specials.
- Fills water glasses and suggests menu or beverage options.
- Ensures that correct member account numbers and names are used for billing.
- Serves food and beverages efficiently, courteously, and in proper sequence.
- Places orders with the kitchen, communicating any special requests or allergies.
- Assembles and delivers food orders accurately to assigned tables.
- Checks back with members and guests to ensure satisfaction; replenishes items as needed.
- Clears and resets tables promptly between courses and after guests depart.
- Presents dessert menus and offers coffee, after-dinner drinks, and recommendations.
- Verifies the accuracy of all checks, charges, and applicable taxes.
- Presents bills and processes transactions according to club procedures.
- Keeps dining and service areas clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Informs supervisors immediately of any member complaints or issues.
- Performs closing and clean-up duties as assigned by management.
- Attends pre-shift or pre-meal meetings as requested by the Food & Beverage Director.
- Thanks members and guests and invites them to return.
- Consistently follows all local and state laws and club policies for serving alcoholic beverages.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Director.

- Maintain knowledge of the menu, daily features, and wine list.
- Ability to time courses and manage multiple tables efficiently.
- Learn members’ names and preferences throughout the season.
- Demonstrate knowledge of wines, spirits, and proper service techniques.
- Ability to perform required roles during emergency situations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods; may climb stairs and balance trays.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and reach.
- Push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work in hot, humid, and occasionally noisy environments.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed during the season.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous food and beverage or hospitality experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Licenses and Special Requirements
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
